SCHENECTADY – Schenectady’s Upstate Canna Co. made the Capital Region’s first legal cannabis sales at a press event Friday, March 31, 2023.

The Union Street store, owned by Donald Andrews, officially opened April 1, 2023.

In April 2024, owner Donald Andrews was arrested related to a February 2024 crash in Guilderland that injured eight people. Among the charges he is facing are one count of aggravated vehicular assault, three counts of second-degree assault and one count of driving while ability impaired by the combined influence of drugs and alcohol.
