EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — An apparent dispute between former partners appears to be behind the closure of one of the busiest legal cannabis dispensaries in Sunland Park, New Mexico.

Field of Dreams had its doors padlocked by their landlord for non-payment of rent, according to a sign on its door.

An attorney for Field of Dreams, however, says the rent has been paid and the lockout notice resulted from a dispute between former business partners.

A notice of lockout and termination was placed on the front door of Field of Dreams dispensary, 159 Sunland Park Dr.

“Field of Dreams has paid its rent. This situation is a business dispute between former business partners that remains unsolved. Fields of Dreams hopes that this matter will be settled soon so that our customers can enjoy the great service they have come to expect.”

Field of Dreams is the No. 2 dispensary in the entire State of New Mexico in terms of sales, according to the state agency that regulates legal cannabis sales.
