MEDINA, Ohio (WKBN) – Two separate traffic stops on interstates in Ohio this week netted over 70 pounds of marijuana.
A Georgia man was arrested Wednesday in Miami County after police say he was transporting 50 pounds of marijuana.
Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol said they pulled over Kasheem Hill, 26, of Marietta, Georgia, on Interstate 75 for an improper lane change and following too close.
A drug-sniffing dog was called in and over $200,000 worth of marijuana was found.
On Monday, Troopers discovered over $96,000 worth of marijuana during a traffic stop in Cuyahoga County.
Troopers said they pulled over a Jeep driven by Jessica Strother, 28, of Cleveland on Interstate 71 for speeding.
Officers smelled marijuana and called in a drug-sniffing dog that alerted troopers that something was inside the vehicle.
Troopers found 24 pounds of marijuana inside a suitcase.
Strother was charged with drug trafficking and possession. She is being held in the Medina County Jail.
