COLUMBUS, Kan. — Three people were arrested when Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant Monday morning at a residence in Columbus and seized an undisclosed amount of marijuana.
The raid conducted about 8:30 a.m. at 327 S. Minnesota Ave. resulted in the arrests of Angela Collier, 42, and Levi Collier, 19. They were being held at the Cherokee County Jail on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia with their bonds at $3,000 each.
While the warrant was being served, a vehicle purportedly sped at officers standing outside the residence. A pursuit led to the arrest of the driver a short distance away and the discovery of marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside his vehicle.
Cody McLean, who was described as a family member of the other suspects, was charged with aggravated assault on an officer as well as possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was being held on a bond set at $10,500.
Sheriff David Groves said in a news release that additional arrests are anticipated in the investigation that led to Monday’s search warrant.
