Ohio Medical Marijuana Update – November 2018
For some medical marijuana patients small amounts of cannabis may become available for sale before the end of 2018. Ohio officials say it may be possible that medical marijuana is available around Christmas.
The Columbus Dispatch reports a spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Commerce stated the first harvested marijuana plants in Ohio should be processed, tested and on shelves at local dispensaries next month.
The delays in certifying testing labs that gauge potency and examine plant products for contamination has stalled plans to make cannabis available this month, Spokeswoman Kerry Francis says.
She says large amounts of marijuana should be available at dispensaries starting early next year.
As of November 5th, 319 doctors have registered to become recommending medcard doctors. These will certify people who have one or more of Ohio’s 21 qualifying medical conditions to legally get medical marijuana in Ohio.
