4 Simple Steps to Get an Ohio Marijuana Card Online

An Ohio medical marijuana card, or MMJ card is a state issued identification card that enables medical marijuana patients to purchase cannabis products from retail dispensaries throughout the state.

Step 1 – Patients will have to find a Medical Marijuana Doctor in Ohio. All recommending physicians must be licensed by the State Pharmacy Board.

Online marijuana card doctor appointments are the preferred method to schedule and perform virtual consults. This has been recently allowed by the state to help prevent the spread of germs and viruses, mainly the Covid-19 coronavirus. Getting an Ohio marijuana card online works the same way with the added convenience of being able to visit with a recommending doctor from your smart phone, tablet or computer.

The doctor will certify:

  • there is a legitimate patient-physician relationship.
  • the Ohio patient must have a qualifying medical condition.
  • the doctor has discussed the benefits and risks of medicinal marijuana as a treatment option.
  • the doctor has reviewed the patient’s records in the state’s controlled substances database.

Patients and caregivers need to bring an unexpired state driver’s license or ID card or U.S. passport with them to the doctor’s office. A patients can designate up to two caregivers who will be able to buy and administer medicinal marijuana. Caregivers need to be at least 21 years of age and are limited to two patients.

Step 2 – Patients and caregivers will receive an email from the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program with a link to login and complete the application. You will then have to pay an yearly registration fee of $50. The fee is reduced to $25 for veterans and patients on federal disability programs.

Step 3Get your Ohio medical marijuana card in 2022 from the state. Upon paying, your medical marijuana card can be downloaded. Print a copy to bring with or show an electronic version on your cell phone at the dispensary.

Step 4 – Go to a local dispensary to buy medical grade cannabis THC and CBD products. You must show them your Ohio Marijuana Card and photo ID must be presented as well at the dispensary.
