A 2020 Gallup poll showed that 68% of Americans support marijuana legalization, which proved itself at the polls this past November when four more states — New Jersey, Arizona, Montana and South Dakota — voted to legalize recreational cannabis.
And the Biden administration has signaled that changes may be coming at the federal level as well. “We will decriminalize the use of marijuana and automatically expunge all marijuana-use convictions and end incarceration for drug use alone,” Vice President Kamala Harris said in a 2020 televised Town Hall.
