Marketing Coordinator – Firelands Scientific – Huron, OH

Summary:

The Marketing Coordinator reports directly to the VP of sales. Marketing Coordinator supports with copy and content creation, graphic design, photography and video creation for websites, product promotion, customer relations and employee relations. This role will require excellent writing skills and the desire to research topics and write original content on assigned topics. The marketing coordinator position will be primarily office-based in Huron, but with flexibility to work at home 1-2 days per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to attract and engage audience, and promote brand messaging
  • Content / Copy creation – marketing communications, articles, internal communications, presentation
  • Create branded advertising campaigns and support the marketing and sales teams by coordinating and collating content.
  • Write and disseminate news releases, media advisories, calendar announcements, and story pitches to appropriate news media outlets
  • Work collaboratively with the VP of Sales and sales team
  • Regular analysis and reporting of industry relevant media trends and new opportunities
  • Responsible for increasing brand awareness for current and potential customers
  • Develop community and patient outreach programs
  • Coordinating the design of promotional material
  • Create, maintain and strengthen the organization’s overall brand through all media avenues.
  • Work closely with in-house graphic designer
  • Provide strategic guidance on communications tactics best suited for specific goals
  • Network with industry experts, strategic partners and potential customers to drive brand awareness
  • Assist in the creation, implementation and administration of packaging and product labels which spotlight FiSci’s brand identity.
  • Accountable for driving customers’ brand perceptions through multiple medias including print, internet, social, content, PR and advertising
  • Responsible for development and management of cross channel marketing campaigns
  • Participate in the development and iteration of strategic marketing plan
  • Participate in creative brainstorms with the Corporate Team and Office Staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Relevant Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing/Communications preferred.
  • 3+ years writing content
  • 3+ years as a Marketing Coordinator or similar role
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Highly experienced with Office applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience in Photography and the design and creation of videography for internal corporate viewing and external marketing communications (ie. YouTube videos)
  • Familiarity with B Corp is an asset
  • Cannabis knowledge
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must comply with state regulations and guidelines
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to pass an extensive background check
  • Long periods of prolonged sitting and standing
  • Long periods of prolonged use of office equipment including computers and phones
  • Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer
  • May require lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Similar to a busy manufacturing facility or warehouse
  • Constant interaction with internal and external stakeholders
