PLAINVILLE — Owners of a new recreational marijuana dispensary in Plainville are proposing to deliver its products across at least six counties in Massachusetts.
Apotho Therapeutics, which is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, opened on Feb. 8 at 119 Washington St. The owners are brothers Andrew Medeiros, of Seekonk, and Mathew Medeiros, of Spencer.
Along with serving as the company’s president, Mathew Medeiros is also co-CEO of Shine Delivery LLC, which plans to deliver Apotho products across Essex, Norfolk, Bristol, Suffolk, Middlesex and Plymouth counties to people over age 21 and who live in communities that allow retail marijuana delivery.
Andrew Medeiros is operating the delivery service with co-CEO and majority shareholder Andrew Stoddard.
Apotho Therapeutics sells its own flower, concentrates, vaporizers, tinctures, topicals and other items inside the former Tavern From Tower Square, which closed in 2019 after 23 years of business.
During a recent community outreach meeting for the proposed marijuana delivery service, Mathew Medeiros said Shine is a pre-certified delivery company that’s applying for a “courier” retail marijuana delivery license and a “marijuana delivery operator” license with the state Cannabis Control Commission.
With the courier license, businesses can charge a fee when delivering products from its storefront to customers, and with an operator license, they can also buy products wholesale from other cultivators and manufacturers and sell them to their customers.
