Contraband found at jail: A Garfield Heights woman, 26, was charged with two counts of third-degree felony illegal conveyance after police said they discovered a small amount of suspected meth and a hypodermic syringe hidden in her clothing when they brought her into the city’s jail and searched her Jan. 6.
The woman was also charged with fifth-degree felony drug possession, as well as misdemeanor charges including two counts of drug abuse instruments possession and a single count of drug paraphernalia possession.
Police said they responded to a Sherwood Drive home after the residents there reported the woman had caused a disturbance by yelling and that she initially refused to leave.
Police said the woman was gone when they arrived. While searching a purse she left behind, they found information identifying her and determined she was wanted by Broadview Heights police. Police said they also found six hypodermic needles and a drug pipe in the purse. Police said they later found the woman at a Route 82 service station and arrested her.
Man stopped for speeding: A Cincinnati man, 22, was cited with marijuana possession, drug paraphernalia possession and speeding after police said they clocked the man’s vehicle at 83 mph in a 65 mph zone and stopped it on Interstate 271 southbound at about 9:55 a.m. Jan. 5. Police said they smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the man’s vehicle and found a small amount of suspected marijuana and a marijuana pipe containing suspected burnt marijuana.
Man a passenger in vehicle: An East Cleveland man, 20, was cited with minor misdemeanor marijuana possession after police stopped a vehicle he was a passenger
