ELYRIA, Ohio- Ohio troopers found more than $1 million worth of marijuana during a traffic stop in Lorain County.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol pulled over a pick-up truck on Interstate 80 on Jan. 21 for failure to use the turn signal. A patrol canine indicated there could be drugs in the car, so troopers performed a search.
According to the patrol, troopers discovered 235 pounds of marijuana, worth about $1.2 million.
Kimberly M. Benson, 42, and Daniel M. Essad, 62, both of Reno, Nevada, were arrested and charged with possession and trafficking. If they are convicted, they could spend up to 16 years in prison.
