Investigators want public's help to ID 'person of interest' in Spring Valley cold case – The San Diego Union-Tribune

It has been a year since someone fatally shot Kenneth Love II, who was working as a security guard at a marijuana dispensary in Spring Valley.

No arrests have been made in the case.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said this week that investigators have an image of a someone who may have information about the killing. But investigators need help from the public to identify him.

Sheriff’s officials said this man is a “person of interest” in the June 2020 slaying of Kenneth Love II in Spring Valley.

The Sheriff’s Department is not calling the person in the photo a suspect in the case; investigators say he is a person of interest.

On Wednesday, Love’s family gathered with volunteers and deputies with the Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s Station at First Baptist Church of Spring Valley — on the same block of Troy Street where Love was killed — to hand out flyers with a photo of the unidentified person.
