Our client in the cannabis industry currently operates in a quarter of the country with double-digit retail locations and a triple-digit growth rate making them one of the fastest-growing companies in North America. As they avidly tackle nationwide development with cultivation facilities, dispensaries, and their headquarters in Chicago – the demand to fill their teams is at an all-time high.

THE ROLE

Join our client’s growing team as an HR Manager and take the lead on employee relations, compliance, people management, and recruitment for their Toledo facility! The HR Manager is a partner and an extension of our client’s national People Team and facility leadership. As the primary point of contact on all Human Resources matters for their Toledo employees, you pride yourself on anticipating challenges and responding with a solution and a backup solution – just in case. You have impeccable attention to detail, an unquestionable work ethic, and without fail, a high degree of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Foster a positive culture and productive workplace where everyone who works in or with the Toledo facility feels the established mission, objectives, and values

  • Use independent judgment to handle employee relation’s matters in collaboration with national People Team partners

  • Develop highly collaborative relationships with national People Team partners and facility leadership, providing counsel, feedback, and coaching

  • Pilot the recruitment process and lifecycle through partnerships with internal teams and hiring managers

  • Manage the new hire onboarding process while working closely with hiring managers to coordinate new hire orientation and training to ensure a positive onboarding experience

  • Create detailed, accurate calendar appointments for travel and company-wide meetings on shared calendars and assist their team with booking travel arrangements

  • Provide general support to visitors and act as the point of contact for internal and external clients

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business or related field required

  • 2+ years experience in a Human Resources role

WHAT YOU WILL LIKELY NEED

  • Ability to learn how to use new online platforms quickly – Quickbooks experience preferred

  • Exemplary time management skills required

  • A natural ability to self-motivate, innovate, and independently work while effectively collaborating and communicating with everyone at all levels

  • Solid organizational skills and aptitude to maintain a high level of accuracy

  • Understands and complies with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Previous experience in a highly regulated industry or interacting directly with state regulators is a plus

  • An understanding of state regulations as they pertain to the cannabis industry and business
