General George Patton’s grandchildren celebrate Veterans Day with 4-day celebration at Green Meadows, a canna – MassLive.com

The grandchild and great-grandchild of iconic U.S. Gen. George S. Patton will celebrate Veterans Day with a four-day event at their cannabis dispensary and production facility they co-founded in Sturbridge.

Bob Patton and his son Rob kicked off the celebration with a ribbon-cutting ceremony signifying Green Meadows’ first harvest of homegrown organic cannabis.

Green Meadows was originally a produce farm established on land purchased by George Patton in 1928.

The family honors the general’s legacy through its commitment to helping veterans and their families cope with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, social isolation, and pain-related issues. This weekend’s festivities align with that mission.

While Nov. 11 is celebrated at Veterans Day, it is also General Patton’s birthday.

The facility at 64 Mill St., Southbridge will host an array of events that include free food, entertainment, yoga, custom dog tag engraving, PAX Pod engraving, glass blowing, and more.

Former New England Patriots quarterback Scott Zolak will be attending Thursday’s event from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to sign autographs.

In collaboration with the Worcester Red Sox, Green Meadows will also host a Veterans Day Dinner for about 200 veterans inside Polar Park on Friday. The dinner will be inside the DCU Club.
