About Greenleaf: Our Greenleaf Corporate office is in downtown Cleveland, Ohio as one of the largest vertically integrated operators under Ohio’s Medical Marijuana Control Program. We are responsible for the complete product journey from seed to sale to provide affordable high-end medical marijuana products and care to Ohioans. Greenleaf will operate our Cultivation/Processing operations out of a state-of-the-art facility located in Middlefield, OH. To complete the product journey, we currently operate five retail dispensaries. Shop locations include Cleveland,

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities*:
The Cultivation Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of marijuana crop cultivation at the production facility.

The successful candidate will possess a passion for horticulture, excellent interpersonal skills, and a willingness to continually learn more about the subject. Experience with controlled environment agriculture is essential to being successful in this role. Greenleaf cultivates medical marijuana in a sophisticated hybrid greenhouse.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carries out the crop cultivation Standard Operating Procedures (“SOPs”) and protocols with the Director of Cultivation including, but not limited to, the following topics: o Propagation o Crop care o Plant nutrition o Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program o Harvest o Drying
  • Effectively leads and manages the cultivation team to grow high quality marijuana plant material, devise efficient workflows and motivate staff. This includes, but is not limited to: o Team Leadership o Training o Technical guidance o Staff scheduling o Performance reviews
  • Manages the crop growth environment by keeping all growth facility systems in good working order and keeping necessary horticultural supplies on-hand to optimize the health and productivity of the crop. This includes, but is not limited to: o Monitoring system performance and identifying issues with lights, gas exchange, hydrology, temperature and humidity o Cleanliness of tools, equipment, work and grow spaces

o Monitoring systems maintenance programs o Working with the Security and Logistics team to keep systems in good working order and scheduling repairs in a timely fashion o Managing the timely availability of horticultural supplies

  • Works closely with the Director of Cultivation to implement company goals
  • Assist the Director of Cultivation with strategy, approvals, and crop management protocols
  • Issues weekly and monthly inventory and production progress reports to Director of Operations
  • Creates work schedules, cultivation logistics, goals and objectives
  • Assists in hiring cultivation staff members
  • Trains, supervises, evaluates and develops cultivation staff members
  • Interfaces with other teams as necessary

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, agriculture, biology, chemistry, botany, or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in cultivation, horticulture, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a project management or supervisory role preferred
  • Must pass a BCI/FBI background check

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively as team leader and guide
  • Ability to remain calm in periods of high stress or unusual activity
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and absolute reliability and honesty
  • Knowledge of computer and office equipment and programs (inventory systems; Word; Excel; office equipment such as copiers/telephone systems)
  • Knowledge of METRC or demonstrated proficiency in comparable seed to sale tracking platform
  • Extensive math required for inventory, projections, measurements, and calculations
  • Principles and practices related to hybrid greenhouse cultivation of medicinal marijuana
  • Strains and their effects, biology and chemistry of medical marijuana OR
  • Effective and efficient communication skills are a must
  • Excellent time-management skills; ability to effectively plan and prioritize
  • Skill in managing physical resources (budgeting, inventories, equipment, materials)
  • Attention to detail
  • Mechanical skills

Physical Demands:

  • Extended time sitting, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for a distance of 100 feet
  • Close visual focus required
  • This position occasionally requires the extended and repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects

Mandatory Qualifications: A successful candidate will need to be 21 years of age and in compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Must complete a State/Federal background check and fingerprinting.
