A Friday search warrant executed by the Metro Narcotics Task Force has led to the seizure of 84 marijuana plants at 7 Leah Court and 5.6 pounds of processed marijuana valued at $1.7 million , authorities said Saturday.
Mikelle D. Jones, 60, and Robert H. Jones, 69, were taken into custody about 3 p.m. at their Leah Court home in Columbus. Both are held without bond in the Muscogee County Jail on one count each of manufacture of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug related objects. A court hearing is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday in Recorder’s Court.
During a search of the home, agents said the couple were in possession of 84 marijuana plants with a street value of $1,680,000 and 5.6 pounds of processed marijuana with a street value of $50,824. All told, the seized drugs are valued at $1,730,824.
In addition to the marijuana, agents said they found grow lights and ballast used to grow marijuana.
The couple were taken into custody without incident.
