Cookies San Bernardino, a popular cannabis dispensary at Orange Show Road and E Street, will tone down the bright blue exterior of its building per the terms of an expansion plan recently approved by the City Council.
A final design is expected shortly, Stephanie Sanchez, Community and Economic Development specialist, said in an email Monday, Oct. 11.
The city hopes to see the improvements completed within the next few months, Sanchez added.
Open for just over a year now, Cookies San Bernardino will occupy three suites within the same strip mall and use some of the additional space for non-cannabis branded merchandise and internal storage.

The owner has agreed to a color scheme that satisfies the city while maintaining Cookies’ branding and individual character, according to a staff report prepared for the City Council last week.
The trademark blue exterior of Cookies San Bernardino has drawn the ire of residents and city leaders.
“I don’t like it,” Councilman Damon Alexander said Oct. 6 during the evening’s council meeting. “I don’t like the way it shows my community.”
