Cannabis shop approved for site next to Cabazon dinosaur statues; park owner not happy – The Desert Sun

The famous dinosaur statues in Cabazon are set to get a new neighbor soon, though not one that the dinosaur park’s owner is happy about.

An Inland Empire cannabis company plans to open a new dispensary about two football fields away from the towering roadside attractions after the Riverside County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a conditional use permit for the site, located just north of Interstate 10 off Seminole Road in Cabazon, during its meeting Tuesday.

Empire, a cannabis company with locations in Moreno Valley, San Bernardino and Jurupa Valley, plans to operate the roughly 4,900-square-foot dispensary in Cabazon, an unincorporated area of the county between Palm Springs and Banning that has become a tourist attraction thanks to the Morongo Casino, Resort and Spa and the Desert Hill Premium Outlets and Cabazon Outlets.
